A cannelé (CAN-ay-LAY) is pastry that is originally from Bordeaux, France.  Traditionally, it is an egg and dairy based batter that is baked in thick copper moulds.  The inside of the mould is lined with beeswax.  This is exactly how we bake ours.

Our cannelé, like the greats ones from Bordeaux, is crispy on the outside and almost custardy in the middle and dominates with the flavour of sweet custard, Bourbon vanilla, and aged  rum.  We bake ours in small batches and they are available for sale on Fridays and Saturdays from 8-11pm, and on Sundays from 1pm onward.  If you would like to place a special order, we sell them in multiples of 6.  Please e-mail us at roselle.desserts@gmail.com with a minimum of 3 days notice.
