An Update

Friends, it’s been a while. The world as we knew it in March has forever shifted- but that isn’t entirely a bad thing. We hope everyone has been staying healthy and strong, physically and mentally.

We have some news, some necessary, some wonderful.

We are closing Roselle West...effective immediately. As you can imagine, it wasn’t a decision we came to lightly but in the end, for us to thrive under these circumstances, we have no choice but to downsize. We so grateful to have a business still, and going back to our original shop where it all started is not the worst thing in the world. We thank you for showing us so much love during our time on the West end.

Now, onto happier announcements!!

WE’RE STARTING OUR SOFTSERVE AGAIN!!

We’re doing it Covid pop-up style. Tuesday evenings will be “Roselle Back-Alley softserve” evenings.

How it will work:

  • Order Sundays at 8pm on our website (www.roselleto.com)

  • Flavour will rotate every now and then. We’re currently making a “Strawberries & Cream” parfait

  • Pick-up between 6pm-9pm at Roselle East, anytime. Line-up will be down our alley (hence the name!)

  • Enjoy at a safe, socially acceptable distance on King St

The orders for tomorrow (and Wednesday July 1st- we added a second date only for this week because it’s Canada day) are currently live. You can order here: https://www.roselleto.com/pop-up-ordering-menu-selection

Cakes for a Cause

What started off as a conversation with one of our dear pastry chef friends has now evolved into a fun little charity initiative. We’ve been really missing our pastry socials (Does anyone remember our Cream Puff Social? Or the Milk & Cookies one? Or the Cookie Social?), so we are doing a Covid-edition of that as well.

The details:

Five pastry chefs (Steven Tran @stran811,  Brendan Platts @brenplatts, David Chow @Davidhchow, Lindsay Haddock @missmacarron_bakingco and us @roselle_to) will be making a “summer drinks” inspired cake in their style. When you purchase a box (with one of each Chef’s cake), we will donate the proceeds to Black Women in Motion, Camh and the Trans people of Colour Project.

  • Ordering will go live on our website Friday July 3th.

  • The cake boxes are $50.

  • Pick-up will be at Roselle East Monday July 6th between 6pm and 9pm

Roselle Puzzle!!!

We are pretty excited that our cakes have a chance to be immortalized in  puzzle form. Piecetogether is a wonderful and creative initiative that is helping local businesses and artists by creating and printing custom puzzles. When you purchase a puzzle, $15 from every sale goes directly to that business/artist.

We will be donating 100% of our share from every puzzle purchased to FoodShareToronto, an incredible non-profit organization that works tirelessly to provide fresh, healthy and accessible food to vulnerable communities as well as being big advocates for food justice.

The price of the puzzle includes Toronto shipping. You can purchase one here: https://wepiecetogether.com/product/roselle-desserts/

As for our operating hours, we will be continuing with our pop-ups (Saturday + Sunday plus softserve on Tuesdays) for the next while. Though as a city we’ve been given the green light with Phase 2, we simply do not feel like we are ready. The risk is still much too great to our staff and community to just re-open “normally”. Our pivoted model of business has been working but most importantly, is the safest for the time being. We thank you for understanding and look forward to seeing you at a pop-up!
