Holiday things and other news!

Hi friends and dessert lovers,

It’s hard to believe that the warm summer days have already come and gone and *gasp!* it will be the holidays in several blinks. We have a lot going on between our 2 (still doesn’t feel real that we have a second location) shops so this post will serve as a summary of all our new items, holiday specials and other news we’d like to share.

Here we go!

Holiday Hours/Annual Closure

We have these updated hours for both Roselle East + West under our “Find Us” page of this website. As usual, we will be closing after our busy holiday rush so that everyone at Roselle can get some much needed R&R. We’ll be closing from Dec 25th and re-opening Saturday January 11th. Please refer to that page for a more detailed breakdown of the next few weeks.

Holiday Goodies

We launched our official pre-order from on this website a couple of days ago. You’ll find a “Holiday Orders” tab. We have so many delicious items on offer, some new, some favourites. they include:

1) Holiday Cookie Tin

You can find a full description on the Holiday Orders page). These are super seasonal, and we’re thrilled to finally offer this year. (we’ve been trying to make it happen for a few years now). To keep the sanity of our staff, we’ve capped off the amount of tins that will be available. Please pre-order to avoid disappointment!

2) Holiday Buche

Every year we make some sort of modern take on the classic Buche de Noel (typically a swiss roll cake that is decorated to look like a tree trunk). This year, we’re proud to offer two very much loved flavours: Earl grey & Chocolate. They are available in one size, 9” and will serve 10-12 people for $70, tax included. We are only taking online pre-orders for these as well. Details listed on our “Holiday Orders” page.

3) Confections

In additional to our seasonal handmade chocolate bars (dark chocolate almond, dark chocolate raspberry, cookies and cream, fruit & nut), we are also offering up our famous French nougat, caramels in a rainbow of colours and this year, chocolate dipped orangettes! We have our OG Flix Mix, our highly addictive snacky jumble of Golden Grahams, earl grey shortbread, almonds, white chocolate raspberry and earl grey tea. Andddddd we just launched our Dark Flix Mix, which features dark chocolate cookies, hazelnuts and almonds tumbled in 70% chocolate and Demello espresso.

4) Other baked seasonal goodies

Many of you have asked and 100% yes, our super cute, fashion-forward snappy gingerbread men will be making a return this weekend at both shops. As will gingerbread madeleines..

Bread Puddin’ Weekends

What started out as an impromptu staff meal for our team has become a tasty weekend addition to our shop. We offer 2 versions on Saturday and Sundays at both Roselles. The first is a savoury one that we’re currently making with our ham & cheese croissants, mushrooms, spinach, spices and the second is a sweet one that can be cinnamon flavoured made with our kouign-amann or with our chocolate almond croissants. Simple and comforting, especially with the lovely frigid Toronto weather. We bake a limited number of these on weekends, please feel free to call ahead and reserve to avoid disappointment.

Starting tomorrow (Thursday December 5th), only at Roselle West, we’re thrilled to offer up:

Morning Happy Hour!

What: Americano + viennoiserie (your choice. OG croissant/kouign-amann, pain au chocolat, ham & cheese, etc)

When: Wed-Sunday, before 10am

Price: $6.50, tax incl

Why: Because coffee + croissant is the best breakfast combo and we think you deserve a little deal for coming in so early.

Please note that this offer is limited to one per person per day. No coffee substitutions and no, you can’t switch a viennoiserie for say, a cake ;)

Upcoming goodies

We have a lot of exciting tasty and social things planned for 2020.

We’ll share 2 sneak peeks with you..

1) Galette des Rois. That super flakey, almond-y, oh so delicious puff pastry cake that is traditionally eaten during Epiphany. Every year we somehow manage to miss it because of our closure, but we’re hoping to change that this coming year…They will be available for pre-order, we’ll let you know.

2) Viennoiserie rotation. We have a pretty good idea of what the fan favourites have been since opening Roselle West and finally introducing this buttery range, but we want to keep things even more fresh and fun in 2020. We’ll keep the staples and favourites, but our plan is to rotate and feature different flavours in the form of danishes, croissants, kouign-amann, brioche buns, etc…. we can hardly wait.
